Worth the Wait: An In-Home Newborn Session
There is something so special about photographing a family in their own home, especially when they have put so much love into creating a space for their little one.
Kristine and Evan recently welcomed Baby Beatriz, and we had a little unexpected change of plans for their newborn session. The day we were originally scheduled to meet was one of those incredibly smoky days in Guelph due to the wildfires across Canada.
When I arrived at their home, the smoke had made everything inside look yellow and much darker than usual. As much as I don't typically like to reschedule sessions, I knew the light just wasn't going to give us the photos I wanted for them. So, we decided to wait a few days and try again.
And it was absolutely worth the wait. A few days later, the sunshine was back, filling their home with that beautiful warm natural light that makes in-home newborn sessions so special.
Kristine and Evan also wanted to make sure we captured Beatriz in her nursery, and I'm so glad we did. Evan hand-painted every single stripe on the nursery wall, and let me tell you, they were literally perfect. It was such a beautiful personal touch and made the nursery feel even more special.
From the warm light filling their home to the little details they carefully created for Beatriz, this session was all about capturing their family exactly as they are in this season.
