Right on Time: A Newborn Session

Every newborn session tells a family's story, and that story doesn't have to fit into a specific timeline. At 1.5 months old, baby Mackenzie was a little older than a typical newborn session, but we were still able to capture so many beautiful moments and document this special season for their family.
Helen and baby Mackenzie both wore pieces from the studio wardrobe, creating a soft, neutral, and timeless look throughout the session.
One of my favourite moments came when Dad asked if we could capture a photo of him holding Mackenzie the way he does every day at home. Those are often the images that become the most meaningful because they reflect the little routines families will always want to remember.
I always encourage parents to hold their baby the way they naturally would at home, whether that's rocking them, cuddling them close, or simply holding them in their favourite position. Those genuine moments create photographs that feel authentic and become even more special as the years go by.
This studio newborn session is a beautiful reminder that there is no perfect age for capturing your growing family. What matters most is preserving the connection you share right now.
